Description
Logan MT5 Review
Gold can be difficult to automate. XAUUSD moves quickly, spreads can change, and strong directional moves can expose poorly designed EAs very quickly.
Logan MT5 takes a different approach from a basic one-entry Gold robot. It combines multiple entry filters with an ATR-based recovery grid and account-level risk controls.
I have based this review on the current product documentation, published specifications, and recent user feedback rather than presenting unverified personal trading results as my own.

What Is Logan MT5?
Logan MT5 is an automated trading system designed specifically for XAUUSD on the M15 timeframe.
The EA first looks for confirmation before entering. According to the developer’s documentation, its entry logic considers three EMAs across multiple timeframes, ADX, tick volume, ATR volatility, spread conditions and candle momentum.
The interesting part comes after entry.
If Gold moves against the initial position, Logan can use additional positions with adaptive ATR-based spacing. Therefore, the recovery grid is not simply based on a fixed number of points.
This distinction matters because volatility in Gold changes considerably throughout the trading week.

My Testing & Performance Assessment
Rather than claiming I personally generated live profits with Logan, I looked at how the system is structured and how actual users have described their experience.
The feedback is mixed, which is exactly what I would expect from a grid-based Gold EA.
Some users reported positive short-term results. For example, one MQL5 user reported 8.73% growth with 10.83% drawdown over a period beginning July 17, 2026. Another reported 3.4% over three days on a mid-high-risk setting. These are individual experiences, not guarantees of future performance.
There are also considerably more cautious reports.
One user described experiencing substantial drawdown almost immediately and stopping the EA after the first week. Another reported losing 30% of capital during a difficult market period.
That tells me something important: Logan should not be evaluated purely by its winning trades or backtest win rate.
The recovery mechanism is an important part of the strategy, and therefore floating drawdown and available margin need to be considered alongside profitability.
Logan MT5 Strategy Explained Simply
The strategy can be understood in three stages:
1. Filter the market
Logan checks several conditions before opening its first position.
These include:
- EMA alignment
- ADX trend strength
- Tick volume
- ATR volatility
- Spread
- Candle momentum
The intention is to avoid taking every possible Gold signal.
2. Enter XAUUSD
When the required conditions align, the EA opens its initial position on the M15 chart.
3. Recover if price moves against the trade
If the market moves in the wrong direction, Logan can add positions using ATR-based spacing.
The basket is then managed toward a combined profit objective.
This is fundamentally different from a conventional fixed-stop scalper, so traders should understand the implications before going live.

Performance Observations
The developer states that historical backtests have produced win rates above 80%. However, I would not use that number alone to judge an EA.
Grid systems can produce high winning-trade percentages while occasionally experiencing substantially larger losing periods.
That is particularly important with Gold.
Recent MQL5 feedback demonstrates both sides of the equation: some users reported strong short-term performance, while others reported significant drawdowns and losses during adverse market conditions.
So the more useful question is not simply “How often does Logan win?”
It is:
“How much capital and margin can I comfortably allocate when the recovery mechanism is active?”
Risk Management & Drawdown
This is the section I would pay the most attention to before purchasing any Gold grid EA.
Logan provides a configurable daily drawdown limit based on realized and floating losses. There is also an optional hard-close function that can close active trades when the threshold is reached.
However, risk controls do not eliminate market risk.
A sudden Gold movement can cause several positions to become exposed simultaneously. One recent MQL5 discussion also included a user reporting a substantial loss during an unusual market movement.
For that reason, the stated $1,000 minimum should not automatically be interpreted as a comfortable account size.
The developer itself recommends $2,000 or more, while conservative traders may prefer to test the EA at an even lower position size relative to their available capital.

Logan MT5 Installation & Setup
Setup is relatively straightforward:

- Configure the daily drawdown limit.

- Run a backtest and demo test before going live.
The official documentation specifically instructs users to allow WebRequest for the news-filter URL and recommends demo/backtesting for broker compatibility.
A VPS is also recommended for uninterrupted operation.
My Opinion After Reviewing Logan MT5
Logan MT5 is more interesting than a basic Gold grid robot because it does not simply enter trades continuously.
Its combination of multi-condition entries, ATR-based recovery, spread filtering and daily drawdown controls gives the system a more structured framework.
But I would not describe it as a low-risk EA.
The recent user feedback makes that particularly clear. Some traders have reported strong results, while others have experienced serious drawdown during difficult Gold movements.
My approach would therefore be simple: test it first, use realistic position sizing, and judge the EA by drawdown as well as returns.
For traders who understand the risks of recovery/grid systems and specifically want automated XAUUSD trading, Logan MT5 is certainly worth investigating.
